Precast elements made of reinforced pre-stressed concrete

Concrete pipes

Field of application:

  • The concrete pipes (culvert and sewer pipes) are used for open flow transportation of clear and residual waters and for roads and bridges underground crossing.

Features

The concrete pipes are made of centrifugal prestressed concrete, under the form of a cylinder having its mouths modified for airproof joint with rubber sealing ring.

The products have different diameters: Φ600, Φ800 but the same pressure.

Nominal diameter [mm] Overall length [mm] Bearing length [mm] Full weight [kg]
Φ600 5145 5000 1250
Φ800 5175 5000 2050

Advantages:

  • Easy fitting compared to the all-cast pipes.
  • Long life in regular operation conditions.
  • Low upkeep costs during exploitation.

Manipularea:

Handling shall be done using mechanical means, avoiding hits and shock. Rubber-protected cables shall be used (but shall not be passed through pipes) as well as devices grabbing the interior of the pipes, avoiding the socket joint area. Rolling on horizontal planes shall be done only using wooden bearing carriers. The roll on shall not be done in the area of the airproof joint. On client’s demand, wooden pipe carriers shall be used.

Safety measures concerning the use of concrete shall be taken in case of pipe exploitation in aggressive water or harsh climate conditions.

It is forbidden:

  • the natural fall discharge.
  • the handling by passing the cable through its interior or using the hooks that catch the pipes endings.
  • the collision of the pipes between them or with other objects.
  • the abrasion torsion, the use of crowbar, chains, spliced cables or the sloping position handling.

Transportation:

Is done by covered means of transport.

Storing:

The following rules shall be observed:

  • The storing shall be made on horizontal surface through 2 bearing carriers having a rectangular margin, and a 15 -cm minimum height, being placed at approximately 110 cm from the pipe extremities.
  • 5 rows maximum shall be overlapped ( for pipes having Φ 600) and 4 rows maximum(for pipes having Φ 800)
  • Pipes are placed alternatively on vertical or horizontal surface having the joint opposite to the extremity
  • Between the horizontal rows, wooden bearing carrier, having at least 14 cm thickness, shall be placed. They shall be placed on the same surface as the bearing carrier found on the ground
  • Pipes found at the ends shall be protected against rolling with logs fixed with specially nails used for bearing carriers.
